Spin and Win…The Brandon & Brandon Show…4th different DTRA winner in 5 races in 2023!

Jeff Johnson (9) took the lead early in the feature event for the Karl Chevrolet Dirt Truck Series during the special Nostalgia Dirt Series event at Sports Sports Park Raceway in Fort Dodge. Brandon Toftee (85T) grabbed the lead on lap 4 and the battle ensued behind him with five trucks swapping positions throughout the night (66, 22j, 9, 10G & 2X)…then the 66 of Brandon Cox spun while making a run for the lead.

That bunched leaders up even more for a restart.

Toftee, Jeff Johnson, Jared Myers (22J) Mason Mitchell (10G) & Jeff Frevert(2x) lined up toward the front of the field for the restart with Cox going to the tail behind Shonn Mapes and Del Enos after the spin.

Positions were exchanged for the final few laps with Toftee remaining out front until, after fighting back from the final spot, Cox made a final run in turn 4 of the final lap.

It was the “Brandon and Brandon” show, side by side, coming to the finish line! The high side coming out of the final corner provided the momentum needed for Brandon Cox to edge his #66 ahead of Brandon Toftee’s 85T by .024 at the finish line!

Jeff Johnson was third, Jared Myers fourth, Mason Mitchell fifth with Jeff Frevert sixth. Shonn Mapes (79) was seventh, Del Enos (2) eighth and Shaun Clinger (43) finished ninth.
